1. Using this book in an Eikaiwa School

Key Points:
a. This book can help you give good grammatical explanations to your students, in either Japanese or English (depending on the edition used), without taking any conversation time away from the class.

Students at eikaiwa schools often comment that although they get lots of speaking practice, they don't feel as though they are making progress because they are not learning anything about English grammar.

Many colleges and universities in Japan take the approach that native speakers should deal with teaching "conversation," while grammar should be the domain of the Japanese teachers. However, many of the problems that learners have are ones that will go unnoticed by Japanese teachers, and it is simply not possible to teach "English conversation" to students who do not understand how basic questions are formed, who have no idea of the correct usage of "yes" and "no," and who have only a very poor grasp of how English tenses are used to express meaning.
Adding "An A-Z of Common English Errors" as a reference in your class will allow you to provide L1 explanations of basic grammar and usage that students will need to learn in order to be able to communicate in English. When each of your students has the book, you can refer individuals to the appropriate points as and when they make mistakes. This will leave you free to move on and monitor other students.
