In the beginning, Marilla doesn’t like Anne. She doesn’t like her imagination, but Matthew likes Anne. She is a different kind of girl. They decide to keep her. Anne has lots of adventures. She likes living at Green Gables. She doesn’t have to imagine life is going to be better any more. She has a home and people that want her.
