englishbooks.jp is proud to be Carbon Neutral

Since 2022, the offices and warehouses of our parent company, Dream Blossom, have used only 100% carbon offset energy. Now, we are going further, joining the RE100 movement and switching to 100% renewably generated electricity from 2024.
In addition, from January 2024 all operations of our englishbooks.jp retail business have become 100% carbon neutral. This includes all processes starting from the point that stock arrives in our warehouses, through storage, handling, staffing, shipping and all the way up even to final disposal!
However, carbon offsetting is only part of the solution to global warming. Dream Blossom and englishbooks.jp are doing all that we can to reduce our use of Earth’s limited resources, by means such as:

• ・ Paperless internal and external order processing and workflows.
• ・ Reusing boxes and packing materials where possible.
• ・ Recycling as much as is possible of waste which cannot be reused or repaired.
• ・ Banning disposable chopsticks from our office, and replacing disposable cups & plates with reusable ones.
• ・ Shipping bulk orders by rail rather than road when feasible.
• ・ Incentivising staff to use non-car methods of commuting, providing free-to-use staff bicycles at the office, and subsidising the purchase of bicycles for commuting.
• ・ Switching all lights to LED, installing solar panels, and adding extra building insulation.
• ・ Working with a specialist consultancy to find new and greater ways to further reduce energy consumption.
• ・ Engaging with our supply chain partners to encourage reduced energy use and emissions offset for manufacturing and shipping to our warehouses.

Dream Blossom Ltd aims to transition all of its business activities to Scope 3 (full) carbon neutrality by 2028.
