One Step at a Time 1

One Step at a Time, Intermediate 1 is the first of a two level academic writing series for learners of English. It is a low intermediate writing text with accompanying skill developing, interactive computer software programs for both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.

• Effective balance of grammar and composition.
• Software available on Macintosh and Windows (Hypercard and Toolbook; three high-density disks). Mac version includes sound, Windows version includes animations and color.
• Software programs are varied; include scoring mechanism, recordkeeping, and feedback for students and teachers.
• Emphasis on the mechanics of topic sentence and paragraph.
• Software: paired activities are included for collaborative learning.
• Software: Three multiple choice testing programs are offered for each level.
• Software: Software includes a personal bilingual vocabulary building program for students as well as classroom presentation software for the instructor.
