Writing Workshop: Promoting College Success is a fully integrated reading and writing program that reviews and consolidates the critical literacy skills that ESL and developmental learners will need as they transition to mainstream academic classes. By providing students with real texts, real assignments, and samples of real student responses to assignments from real teachers, Writing Workshop helps students write, read, and discuss their way to college success.

• High-interest reading and writing assignments familiarize students with the types of academic assignments found in the disciplines of economics, business, biology, education, geography, and anthropology.
• Workshop activities help students develop critical writing skills, such as preparing summaries, tackling essay exams, and researching topics for term papers.
• Readings from a variety of genres such as textbooks, journals, case studies, and student papers provide springboards for academic writing assignments.
