Word Quest - (Single User)

Once set up, this activity takes minimal work from the teacher to keep running smoothly. Students choose a frequency word vocabulary quiz to take based on the previous week's result (quiz 1 is easiest, and each subsequent quiz gets a little more difficult). Students write answers on an answer sheet or their own paper. When done taking the quiz, students flip the quiz paper over to check their answers, and record their results. Thus, students take more difficult quizzes at their own pace. This activity encourages autonomy and self-directed learning while giving students the chance to drill frequency word vocabulary.
